SWAP Modelers
SWAP Modelers is a chartered club of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), a recreational and educational organization under the Baltimore Highlands Recreation Council. We are an organization of enthusiasts dedicated to promoting the development of radio controlled (R/C) modeling as a recreational, sporting, and educational activity. It is also our goal to encourage brotherhood among the present and future members of the club and community; and to aid the programs of the Baltimore Highlands Recreation Council and the AMA. We, the members of SWAP Modelers, would like to extend an invitation to you to visit us at our flying field in the Southwest Area Park.

Traveling east on the south end of Baltimore I-695 beltway, take Rt. 648 (Old Annapolis Blvd) north approx. 2 mi. Turn right on Georgia Ave. Drive several blocks to the end of Georgia Ave and cross the Light Rail tracks into the park to the end of the road. Turn right and go through the gate to the top of the hill and you are there. South West Area Park is located in Baltimore Highlands, approx. 3 mi. south of downtown Baltimore off of Rt 648.
Our field includes shelters, picnic tables, storage bldg., a 200 ft paved runway, a large grass mowed field, and almost no trees to obscure flying. Since we’re on a hill visibility is almost to the horizon.
